Spelling: Telnet

Take your pick...
_The telnet command is used to communicate with another host using
the TELNET protocol._

Generally, the telnet [1] application is used to communicate with
another computer by supplying the user with a virtual terminal.

Telnet\'s [2] 'days of glory' have been and gone although it still
has it's uses. SSH [3] is the preferred method of communicating
between machines as the traffic is fully encrypted and thus has better
security.
Know telnet\'s [4] limitations and then use it accordingly, if there
is any doubt then the SSH [5] application may serve you better.
