WEB-BASED DISTRIBUTED AUTHORING AND VERSIONING.
A set of extensions to the HTTP protocol which allows users to
collaboratively edit and manage files on remote web servers. Kind of
like Wiki, but on a grander scale.
WebDav [1] is platform independent, both in terms of client and
server, and makes use of the standard authorisation and authentication
methods built into every Web Server already. It is defined in RFC
2518.
