WaveLAN [1] is the trademark name for the Proxim [2] line of 802.11
[3] products.
There seems to be a lot of confusion between the names Lucent [4],
Proxim [5], Agere [6] and WaveLAN [7]. Add a few more names like
Digital Ocean [8], AT&T [9] and Avaya [10] and things become downright
silly. Luckily, there is an explanation [11] on the PersonalTelco [12]
website.
