VOICE OVER IP
Technology to enable the transmission of speech over TCP/IP based
networks. VoIP [1] uses speech compression to enable high quality
speech to be transmitted in as little bandwidth as possible.
At the September MelbWireless [2] meeting, over a dozen
MelbWirelessPeople [3] installed SpeakFreely [4] onto their laptops
and participated in a huge wireless conference call. Were these
laptops the WorldsMostExpensiveWalkieTalkies? [5]
