URL - Uniform Resorce Locator
RFC rfc2718 [1]
A subset of URI [2] that may be considered deprecated [3].
-------------------------
DEPRECATED?
The curious could start at Naming and Addressing [4] and then review
the more recent rfc2396 [5] draft with its associated discussion [6].
The clincher though is probably the stated RFC merge in the
introduction. [7]
So, it would appear that URLs (and URNs) have lost their importance,
and that the parent URI [8] is the preferred term.
Damn, and EARL rolled off the tongue so nicely - OORI?
