Network Address Translation.
IETF [1] _RFC1918 [2] defines three address ranges that may be used
for so-called private_ networks. These ranges must not be forwarded by
routers onto the general Internet [3].
NAT (see RFC1631 [4]) defines a means by which a router can translate
the source or destination IPAddress in forwarded packets to make a
private network appear to be a single host with a public network
address.
Most CableModem [5], ADSLModem [6] and AccessPoint [7] devices will
include a NAT router.
