Lucent [1] is a former division of AT&T. One of the things they took
with them was the WaveLAN [2] technology, which evolved from a
proprietary protocol, through 802.11 and ultimately to 802.11b.
The wireless division was spun off to form a new company, Orinoco,
and now sell a range of cards (including the OrinocoSilver [3]),
AccessPoint [4]s and various accessories.
