Spelling: HostAP

At a very basic level, HostAP [1] is simply turning a Linux [2] box
(with a Prism2/2.5/3 card) into an Access Point [3]. i.e., it takes
care of IEEE [4] 802.11 [5] management functions in the host computer
and acts as an AP without requiring any special firmware for the
wireless LAN card.

HostAP [6] is also a complete driver for the Prism2 Chipset and will
permit the card to run as an Access Point [7], in client(managed)
mode, ad-hoc [8] mode or RFMon (Monitor) mode.

The Host AP website [9] has all the information you need to get it
configured.
