Apparently the DWL-1000AP isn't made directly by D-Link, but is
rebadged, can't remember from who though.
It comes with a setup program that only runs under Windows, but once
initialised, it has a web interface to set all the wireless
parameters, so from then on it's OS independent.
For security, it has 64/128 bit WEP and MAC address filtering.
The supplied antenna can be removed so you can add an external
antenna to it, but it's an unusual plug.
