802.15.3 [1] is based on a centralized and connection-oriented ad-hoc
networking topology. At initialization, one node (DEV) will be
required to assume the role of the coordinator/scheduler of the WPAN
(PNC).
In addition to providing basic network synchronization timing, the
PNC will also perform admission control, allocate network resources on
the piconet, according a pre-defined set of QoS [2] policies and the
amount of Channel Time (CT) resources available for data transfers,
manages Power Save requests.
