Goal
This workgroup will be for the discussion and formulation of privacy statements and policies of Melbourne Wireless.
Issues regarding to security and data system security are also a focus of this group.
This group will work specifically with the known current privacy and security issues.

Useful Information
Issues:
- Anything sent unencrypted over the network is vulnerable to interception by anyone (not only MW members).
- Even if encrypted, possibility of traffic analysis.
- Network provides means for gaining unauthorised access to member's private files.
- Issue of logging of use of services (ftp/irc/game/p2p) provided on network - do they need privacy policies?
- Content Policies (for Internet Gateway Nodes - should they come about)
- Cache Policies
- Electronic Signatures (PGP Keys etc)
- Need to provide help on general system security for users (who may not have run servers in the past.

(TysonClugg) What about issues relating directly to the Melbourne Wireless Inc. website?
I think that the Platform for Privacy Preferences (P3P Project) has a lot of relevance here and needs to be addressed.
