ShroudedSMAConnector
Shrouded SMA Connectors are the cousins of SMA-Connectors, and provide identical performance.
These shrouded connectors differ only by an extended "shroud" around the connector making them longer than normal SMA conenctors, therefore making them unable to fully mate with standard connectors.
Shrouded connectors are commonly used on 802.11 gear by Breezecom due to America's FCC requirements (Part 15.203) where by such equipment needs non-standard connectors. Other modified SMA solutions to satisfy the FCC requirements are to either use "reverse-thread" or (much more commonly) "reverse-polarity" connectors.
