Equipment
I currently own a
TP-LINK TL-WN321G USB Wifi Adapter with approx. 20dBm max tx power.
Services
Elaborate on services seen on the maps page. The node must be in testing or operational to be listed
Planning to offer DHCP, game servers, file hosting, personal web hosting, HDTV streaming (if enough bandwidth) and possibly public gmail/hotmail access
Plans
I am considering to use a USB Wifi with a Wok Antenna.
I plan to run Debian or Ubuntu Linux on a old 1GHz machine
Problems
I don't have an endless supply of cash
I have few trees and power lines which may or may not be in the way
I am a complete n00b, and don't know how to set it up
I am ~3.3km from the node I want to connect to (the one in the city)
I need lots of info on what to purchase and how to set it up.
