OFFICIAL DETAILS
The Most Smart WLAN Router in the world just got better.
The Asus WL500G Premium Broadband Router is now really SIX devices in
one box.
* First, there's the Wireless Access Point, which lets you connect
Wireless-G or Wireless-B devices to the network.
* There's also a built-in 4-port full-duplex 10/100 Switch to
connect your wired-Ethernet devices. Connect four PCs directly, or
daisy-chain out to more hubs and switches to create as big a network
as you need.
* The Router function ties it all together and lets your whole
network share a high-speed cable or DSL Internet connection, files,
and other resources such as printers and hard disk storage space.
* It also has ability to be a print server or control device via the
printer port
* A USB Storage support for USB key's / Harddisks OR a USB Webcam,
the storage support is even included on OpenWrt [11] with webcam
support on the horizon.
* Finally, newly added is built in bit torrent support to download
while your pc is off to the wl500gP attached USB harddisk.

DISCUSSION
15/08/07 BlueIce [17] : There is a version 2 of this product that MAY
not have a mini PCI card as it may be integrated:( How to tell the
difference between v2 and v1 remains to be answered.
18/8/06 Peter melb_ap [18] : Ok this looks like the new leap in
performance for openwrt & this range of products we were looking for!
It has all the pros of the r100/wl500g (minus the parallel port) but
with USB2 , a 266 Mhz CPU , 8 meg flash & 32 meg memory standard !
Openwrt support is there, but some manual intervention is required.
Oleg firmware is not far away (in beta) with native 640x480 webcam
support.
