An Ethernet [3] device used to connect multiple Clients [4], Servers
[5] and other network resources together on the same network.
Unlike a Hub [6], which is a dumb device, a Switch has a limited
intelligence. A switch is able to read network traffic passing through
it and forward it only to the recipient(s). A Switch is able to
determine which traffic to Broadcast [7] or Multicast [8], a Hub [9]
broadcasts all traffic.
