Network Address Translation.
IETF [1] _RFC1918 [2] defines three address ranges that may be used
for so-called private_ networks. These ranges must not be forwarded by
routers [3] onto the general Internet [4].
NAT (see RFC1631 [5]) defines a means by which a router can translate
the source or destination IP Address in forwarded packets to make a
private network appear to be a single host with a public network
address.
Many CableModem [6], ADSLModem [7] and AccessPoint [8] devices
include a NAT Router [9].
