Ricoh PCI Adapter (the ones sold at the last meeting - chipset =
R5C475II)
* OpenBSD [7] detected it straight out with an Enterasys Card --
JamesHealy [8]
* WinXP [9] didnt even ask for drivers, just started working with an
Enterasys Card -- JamesHealy [10]
* Win2000: see WinXP [11] -- Joris [12]
* Linux [13]: Enterasys cards work fine in these with Linux --
FennBailey [14]
* FreeBSD 4.7, 4.6 [15]: see the specific cases [16] page
Svec
* The Svec WL-123 adaptors are equipped with an Ricoh RL5c475
chipset, see the Ricoh PCI Adapter above.
* Depending on the BIOS of your PC, the SVEC may not get an IRQ
under Linux - see [http://martybugs.net/wireless/router.cgi] for info
on getting it working under RedHat [17] 7.3 on a PCI2.1 compliant PC
(the SVECs supposedly require a PCI2.2 compliant BIOS).

Raylink ISA adapter
* Orinoco cards work in Linux and XP using Intel PCIC -- Drew [19]
* Wavelan IEEE 2Mb works under Windows 2000 -- Shorty [20]
Vadem VG-469
* Detected under Windows as an Intel PCIC compatible PCMCIA card.
Fully functional as a PCMCIA bridge.
* Works under Linux using the I82365 module.
PLXCARRIERS PLX CARRIERS
PLX [21]
* Will not work under Windows unless you use a PCMCIA WiFi [22] card
from a manufacturer that uses PLX carriers (eg. Netgear).
Enterasys/Orinoco cards therefore won't work under Windows in one of
these cradles.
Netgear MA301 PlxCarrier [23]
* Enterasys cards work in in Linux -- RogerVenning [24]
PCI version issues
* Does someone who knows about such stuff want to talk about old MB
that might have issues with PCI v2.0, 2.1 or 2.2 want to make a
comment here?
* from my poor understanding of the matter there are issues putting
PCI cards with higher version numbers into older slots... (or is it
the other way around?). Lack of backwards compatability, lots of *NIX
systems seem to have partial workarounds. paulvdB [25]
