Voice Over IP


Technology to enable the transmission of speech over TCP/IP based networks. VoIP uses speech compression to enable high quality speech to be transmitted in as little bandwidth as possible.

At the September MelbWireless meeting, over a dozen Melb Wireless People installed SpeakFreely onto their laptops and participated in a huge wireless conference call. Were these laptops TheWorldsMostExpensiveWalkieTalkies? :-)
