History:
Begun life as an indipendant project between friends to create a local wireless lan with the goal to becoming open to all.Currently looking into joining this project.
Current Services:
(not on melb wireless yet)- fnx search
- searches localy hosted sites
- perhaps all sites hosted on melbwireless PCs some day)
- Http website hosting
- limited intranet HTML and PHP hosting.
- SQL avalible.
Possible Future services:
- Internet Email server
- Free intranet to internet email for all melbwireless users
- MMORPG Game server
- In dev MMORPG using an open source engine. www.everlastingonline.co.nr
- Limited free internet connectivity (256/64 Shared between all) to all in range.
- Intranet IRC server
!!!Problems
- Currently theres noone coles enought whos active to connect to. Soloution? Buying an amp and possibly a radio tower
Current status:
Compiling the equpimnet needed to link up with melbourne wireless.Estimated time till commencement of full scale testing, Late Jan 2008.
