MMCXConnector
MMCX-Connectors are 50 Ohm coaxial cable connectors designed for frequencies up to 6 GHz.
"MMCX" stands for "MicroMate-CoaX", or "MicroMate-C". The MMCX-Connector was designed in the early 1990's as the smaller brother of the MCX-Connector. It is around 45% smaller and lighter than an SMB-Connectors, and similar in design.
The MMCX-Connector has snap-on mating, and can be rotated 360-degrees while mated, and while in-used.
The MMCX benifits over the MCX in that it provides a slot-less interface to minimise leakage, and increase its durability. Its small size and low weight make it perfect for mobile applications.
Many PCMCIA Wireless LAN cards use the MMCX-Connector, or a slightly modified version called a Reverse-Polarity MMCX-Connector.
