HyperLAN
HyperLAN stands for "High Performance Radio Local Area Network", and is a Wireless LAN standardised by the European Telecommunication Standardisation Institution (ETSI).
HyperLAN runs in the 5 GHz ISM band, and has a theoretical maximum speed of 54 Mbps. HyperLAN is a competitor to 802.11a technology, and is, of course, adopted widely in Europe (and is one main reason for the ETSI to disallow 802.11a use across Europe, for now).
The ACA supports HyperLAN's, however under the same restricted "low interference potential devices class licence" as 802.11a.
