 I currently have an opertional wlan between a couple of pcs at home and plan to  extend the link 1k to a friends property. 

 I started on this wireless project last year when I heard about the melb-wireless group in Austrailia. 

 The idea being able to link to friends and family and learn stuff in the process. 

-On 7 dec 2002 I achieved a link with no line of site...the wlan is set on 1M and

-Update 18 July 2003 We now have 5 nodes running at 11M and throughput is at a 

-constant 580KBps.... we've now migrated from an all cisco PCI4800 network in ad-hoc mode...to also using 2 frontnet AP's (atmel chipset) 1 as the main AP and at my place in 1 in AP-Client mode...both using poe and working well....
