At the moment I am running a Netgear WG511 PCMCIA card on a Compaq Armada M300.   I have managed to contact the FKR node once today (which is why I started looking into melb wireless again), and will be looking into better wireless cards / APs soon (the WG511 doesn't support an external antenna to my knowledge).
