* Wireless Card:  D Link 520+ in PIII desktop

* Antenna:  at present 21 dBi parabolic reflector at 8 metres

* Cable:  20 metres of LDF4-50A. plus tails



!! APs Heard

At present the only wireless.org.au community nodes I have heard is Node GHO at Mt. Dandenong a distance of ~62 Km.  An estimate of the link performance is calculated below in the table as is the display of the D Link card for the GHO node.  Ping times as indicated with speed set to “auto”.



!! Future Possibilities.



Increase antenna gain and height but not exceeding EIRP limit.

Conduct tests with manually selected different link speed settings, to determine optimum settings;

* plot results with ping packet loss Vs speed

* packet length Vs speed Vs loss.  For other traffic.
