I got into computers by pulling apart the family's XT. Wow, those were the days: CGA graphics, MFM hard disks and 360k floppies...

Wireless just appeals to me for some reason. Networking computers and internet access has always involved cables (I know a group of housemates that share the internet by having a phone extension long enough to get to any of their 4 bedrooms - not pretty!) so getting cable internet speeds on a laptop while up a tree in the backyard has got to be something to marvel at.

My MelbWireless node is [NodeDJJ]. It has been operational for almost 9 months but only has the one short link at the moment. :(
