09/06/2007 - Long time, no update. I've started looking for surrounding nodes but have stumbled across a problem. It never occurred to me before but I've now realised that I'm at the bottom of a valley with NO LoS to ANYTHING. I think this is the end of my attempt to join the Melbourne Wireless network. I'm thinking of moving in 12 months or so, so who knows, maybe I'll try again then.

24/04/2006 - Will be relocating to Ferntree gully in the coming weeks. This is a good thing as there is better LOS and I have the freedom to put the antenna wherever I like.

12/02/2006 - Network taken down. Antenna Issues.

7/08/2005 - Set up a network with SSID of "testing123". Hopefully poeple will be able to see it.

3/08/2005 - Purchased a 5dB Omni-directional antenna to have a better look at whats around my area.

27/07/2005 - Registered with Melbourne Wireless. 

16/05/2005 - Purchased Wireless Card (Gigabyte). Need to investigate connecting a larger omni-directional antenna to it.

* Server (Print / File - Was used as a web server which has since been removed.) - considering making this the main wireless gateway 

* Wireless router / AP - This will be kept on the mast in a weather-proof box

* 15db Directional antenna.
